Practice in .45? My own loads (Berry's 230 gr FMJ) or name-brand brass case factory loads - mainly PMC Bronze lately because of price and availability (for what it's with I find WWB dirtier than Federal in all calibers, but not nearly as dirty as that Monarch junk at Academy) - I also haven't been shooting much Federal lately in .45 because of the small primer (reloading issue, no problem if you just buy and use once)

For carry/self defense - I like Hornady TAP 230 gr + P or Winchester PDX Bonder (rebranded Ranger) in 230 gr

I too found the WWB is very dirty. Had 2 FTF during proficiency test. I now use Federal.

I use WWB for practice ammo. I find it cleaner than Rem UMC. But honestly, you better be cleaning your gun after every range trip.

For HD, I use Gold Dot. Shoots great. I'll probably try the +p ammo my next go around.

target, what ever i can find on sale.
pp. 185gr+p hornady crit.
i always opt for medium weight for volicity and +p help reduce possible jams caused by things like dust and pocket lint. thats my view on all my autos except 40cal. 40 im odd man out and use 135gr corbon very light and close to 1400fps. expansion has been reported as very good and tends to lose volicity in target (s) from expansion but penetration is a little less.
