One of my pupils noticed it a few months back and was like, 'Sir, you've got pierced ears!!!!"
Mucho hilarity.

I don't spend time passing judgement on such things so none of this effects my day. But it may effect their day or life. IMO, personal feelings and friendships are completely seperate from the work environment.cheezit wrote:i dont get it..
how does the way that someone looks effect your day to day life?
If a person perfers the company of someone of the same sex how does that effect your day to to day life?
why are people wasting time passing judgement on such things? nither seem to effect me. I have friends from all walks of life. stright, gay, sleved with tats and as many holes as you could find in a pin cushin.
just for the record im happly married for 16 years to my wife, have no tats and no more holes then god made me with.
That's been true a long time but even more important with Obama-level unemployment across most of the country.WildBill wrote:I have worked in industry for many years and a person's appearance is a big factor getting hired and getting promoted. Of course, it is different, or not as important, for certain industries or types of jobs, but hiring decisions are based on dress, personal appearance, hygiene, tatoos, piercings etc. Most of the bosses, employees and customers in my line of work are conservative so there is a certain standard that most people adhere to.
The job market is hard enough without face tatoos.rubio wrote:That's been true a long time but even more important with Obama-level unemployment across most of the country.WildBill wrote:I have worked in industry for many years and a person's appearance is a big factor getting hired and getting promoted. I work security right now. My personal experience is that 95% of those types of people are rude, ignorant, and possibly or do have criminal tendencies.I read (don't recall precisely where...) that guys with neck tattoos are very often criminals.
I wonder - is this so?
I know the few I've personally witnessed gave off a certain je ne sais quoi (for the Annoyed Man) of criminality. Were they? Was my instant judgement unfair? Maybe..., but I know most of the time my radar for such things has proven to be right on the money.
One of my former bosses described this as "bad vibes."je ne sais quoi
