"Mailed" status for 7 days

#1

Post by tobasco »

Hi, first post here. It's been 7 days since my status changed to mailed but the chl hasn't arrived. Is this typical? I'm thinking it's sitting in someone's outbox or something and only technically has been "mailed".

There is usually a delay between the day it say's mailed and it actually makes it to the post office. I would not worry for now.

Ours were delivered on Friday. Takes about a week from the time it says "mailed"

I waited a full 7 days before I got my plastic from the day my DPS status changed to mailed. I would say this is pretty normal. I bet you'll see it today or tomorrow.

Definitely the norm. They need to change that wording, because "mailed" only means sent over to the mail room to get ready to be shipped out, as I was told anyway.

Ok thanks for the infos. Overall I have to give credit to DPS for having such a detailed online status update page. Makes the wait easier for us seeing that something is actually happening instead of wondering if your packet maybe fell behind the desk or something.

Post by samman »

All,

Guess I'm the unluck one, that I still haven't receive my CHL thanks to our US Postal office.

8-24-2012 CHL Class
8-24-2012 Application Submitted
9-6-2012 Fingerprints Done
9-7-2012Packet Sent to DPS
9-28-2012 Mailed
10-11-2012 Still waiting, Called DPS today, they said "it's probably loss by Postal office". :mad5 And that I'll need to wait till 10/28(30day requirement) before they can reissue another one. :banghead: :totap:
10-12-12 Received my plastic today, :woohoo I guess its miracle, don’t need DPS to reissue after all. :cheers2: Interesting… post marked dated on 10/9/12. About time! anyone out there can break my record of the longest wait time? haha!

I received an email from DPS yesterday notifying me that mine was complete and ready to be shipped. My wife did not receive an email but I checked online and hers has also shipped.

Is it unusual to receive an email from them?

I never got an email from them except as a reply to a question I had. That seems unusual to me but I guess it's good that they are going the extra mile on communication. Are you sure it's from DPS and not some spammer that's spoofing a DPS address?

Pretty certain it's authentic:

Your license is in the process of being printed and mailed. Please allow 5-15 business days for it to arrive in the mail.

It also included all my personal information, including the date the application was received.

Looks authentic to me. If they have all of your personal information you better hope is was the DPS.
