The state of Texas offers my wife and I a 50% veteran's discount on my CHL. We take advantage of it. I hope no one has ill feelings because we do.
No State shall convert a liberty into a privilege, license it, and charge a fee therefor. -- Murdock v. Pennsylvania If the State converts a right into a privilege, the citizen can ignore the license and fee and engage in the right with impunity. -- Shuttleworth v. City of Birmingham

I'm not a veteran. The closest I've been to being in the military is picking someone up at a base one time. I take no offense to it. As long as CHLs will be required, all veterans should get them free forget the discount. IMHO. Neither am I offended that those over 65 or under 12 receive discounts on many things. If this guy wins, that may be the beginning of the end of all those discounts and freebies. A win will encourage other to file similar suits.

Rather than write a dissertation, I'll just quote my lovely wife. "That's so stupid."

A range by me lets ladys shoot free on mondays, I love it . It gets the better half to go with me even more often. She dosen't want to stay at the range for 2 hours like I do so wont go with me when I have to pay for her to go. But since it only cost us 10 for both she doesn't feel bad when we only stay for an hour.
The whole time I listened to this story on the news I kept thinking that this dude just hacked off a bunch of ladies that like to shoot. Howevery, being like most of us moms, we aren't keen to spend money on ourselves, so we LOVE these opportunities to do something for ourselves and our families that doesn't involve spending money that might be needed for lil' johnny's shoes (because they are growing a size every 2 weeks). So he is likely taking away their low cost stress removal.... not a great idea in my mind. This guy needs a job that keeps him busier obviously!

I'll get my dads opinion on this to see if it is a good business outlook. He is very experienced in business management.
I don't know about suing the company, but I can agree with him being upset. Now, if the range did a guy free night too then maybe it could work out too.
