They have a promotion (and have for many many years) called "Bald Mondays"
If you are bald, you come in for lunch and get a savings over someone with hair.

Baldness affects men more than women, but if a bald woman came in she would receive the same discount. Baldness also does not discriminate based on race. It may be more prevalent in some races, but that's the same issue with women. And I am also sure that if a child came in with a bald head, they too, would receive the discount.

It seems that a big point being missed is that the law prohibits treating people differently if the different treatment is based on certain protected classes in the law. Under Maryland law:

Despite the range being a privately-owned business:

Yes, but he would not be discriminating against them. He would be discriminating against the healthy, but I don't think they are protected. Weird, huh?

I'm sorry, but that's the way it is. I didn't make these laws. I don't always like them either and I'm not the type of person that will sue someone or make a big stink about it. I'll protest with my freedom to choose where I do my business if it bothers me that much. Having a ladies day at the range does not bother me. Does that mean I am part of the problem because I have come to accept that discrimination? Probably.

Maybe situations like these have already been dealt with in some court. IDK

There will always be an argument that a portion of the population is being treated unfairly and one can manipulate that group into a protected class. If as a country we achieve 100% equality, we did so by sacrificing the very freedoms this country was founded on. All frivolous lawsuits seem to accomplish is taking more of those freedoms away.

I don't have a problem with this guy running his business as he wants to run his business. I still remember the old, "We Reserve the Right to Refuse Service", signs. I also remember other signs from days gone by. I think in this instance, "A Ladies Day" is a good idea...for the ladies and for the sport.

If one doesn't like the way a business is run, shop/eat/shoot elsewhere. I am not condoning discrimination, I'm merely suggesting that we all have choices.

I can understand this guys view to a point. If they had turned him away from shooting that day because he was not a woman it may have been different, but he just had to pay when the women didnt. I dont understand his sense of entitlement to 200k. If anything he should seek his $15 back and perhaps find a new range if he is so put off by the range's decision to encourage women to come shoot. People nowadays looove to be the "victim", because that's where the money is!
