Re: alamo carry
I do not think it's a state building.
If it is, you may not be able to.

According to Texas3006.com
It's very small print at the very bottom right hand corner. They are at every entrance. The sign says that CHL weapons must be checked at the Ranger's armory but when I went to do so, the Ranger said not to worry about it and keep it hidden.

Either way ...sounds like ... Non-compliant 30.06 sign on State or City Owned Property ...Who owns the Alamo today?
The city of San Antonio owns the Alamo.

Hmmmm
Who Owns The Alamo?
The Alamo is owned by the State of Texas and operated by the Daughters of the Republic of Texas.

Now if the sign was a compliant sign and there was a government "meeting" at the time I wouldn't carry, but otherwise I would carry with a non-compliant sign on State (or city) owned property not otherwise prohibited.

How ironic is the thought that no guns are allowed at the Alamo?sjones wrote:Does anyone know if you can legaly carry in the alamo? thanks

I know right? I started to post about March 6, 1836 and stuff but decided to post a useable answer
edited to fix a typo since it's easier than reprinting all the history books.

Re: alamo carry
I don't remember any signs there last time I was at the Alamo, must have missed it. Maybe those signs are just like the signs about "no photography" which everyone ignores.

I was at the Alamo just last week and saw no signs so I carried.

Much like Bowie knives being illegal in the state that made them famous.VMI77 wrote:How ironic is the thought that no guns are allowed at the Alamo?sjones wrote:Does anyone know if you can legaly carry in the alamo? thanks

Is "Alamo Carry" like "Mexican Carry", but just a little further north?

Been there several times and carried each one. No worries! I don't think that armory has been used since 1836.

Re: alamo carry
When we went a couple of years ago, I called and asked a lady at the Alamo if they were posted or not. She said she wasn't sure but put me through to a "Daughter of the Republic." She sounded elderly and wasn't sure she would be up on the jargon, so I made it simple, "Do you permit conceal carry at the Alamo?" She said "You mean gun?" I told her yes. In a rough sounding gravely voice, she said loudly, "If ya got 'em, BRING 'EM!"

Re: alamo carry
I admired the Alamo late last month and did not notice any 30.06, proper or otherwise. I carried like it was my 2nd Amendment right.
Got a strange look from the goofy kid taking photos of EVERY person who entered the place when I told him, "sorry, I can't be in any photos." It was my first time to the Alamo and I found the touristy photo gimmick to be tasteless for such a hallowed place.
