Local Gun store owner supports ammo ban

I don't think he's going to recover from that screw up. Seems to bring to mind something my mother used to say to me when I was a kid, "think before you speak because whatever you say may have long-term repercussions. If its worth the consequences say it, if not shut-up."

I find his 'retraction' a bit insencere. After the initial interview he posted this on his FB page (since removed):

Also that ammo must be purchased at a brick and mortar store just like firearms, which I am not totally opposed to. Think about it, if you are not able to legally purchase a firearm there are ways of getting One through a third party, on the streets, black market- call it what you want. Purchasing ammo online makes it easier for these guys to load those weapons and cause harm. Maybe if ammo sales are restricted to real store fronts it may cut down on some of that action. Guns are useless without bullets.

I wish I could afford to buy ammo in bigger purchases...I most certainly would. The more you buy at a time, the better the per-round price usually is...you can see that in by-the-case deals many of the on-line retailers usually have...once again, I think this guy was only concerned about HIS bottom line and visions of increased revenue streams dancing through his head. Truly a case of "open mouth, insert foot".

He admits that guns can be bought "through a third party, on the streets, black market . . . " instead of buying at a "brick and mortar store." It's noteworthy that he wasn't as candid about ammo being purchased the same way. So the only people who will feel the impact on restrictions on the method of purchasing ammo would be law-abiding citizens -- the same ones who would be forced to buy at his store. Interesting.

It appears that he has a tendency to keep his foot inserted in his mouth, with a company named Tactical Firearms I would think that he would have some common sense and at least give out good advice, check out his thoughts on home invasion.

I expect that everybody will be wondering exactly where he got his expertise and training so we do not make the same mistake.........Artificial intelligence is no match for natural stupidity.....

That's not a retraction, he's further clarifying what he really means and it's not favorable. I don't into Katy much but I know plenty of people that do. I will be sure to spread the word that his door is not worth darkening.

I can imagine if such a restriction were to come about, off the shelf prices for ammo would rise 20%(or more) overnight.

I thought this might be the whole idea of this administration. Aurora played quite well into their hands. Start talking restricting ammo sales = Back door gun control. I'm flabbergasted that the federal government hasn't started pressuring states to institute some kind of outrageous "luxury tax" on gun/ammo sales, in the same manner as cigarette and liquor sales.

Mexico restricted the “general Public” to only having small caliber guns like a .32 or .380 so only the military, police and cartels who get the military and police guns can use the hi caliber stuff to massacre the thousands of citizens each year….

I don’t think that’s a solution to a problem because the ammo used in those 2 cited crimes could have been bought at WalMart too.

So, you are just throwing out laws which are similar to making cars harder to buy for everyone in order to stop a drunk guy from driving.
