Same here. When I go to gun shows I always look for a Kel-Tec or Ruger P-series under $150 to use as a truck gun. For that job, I want a cheap 9mm that works, not something that sits there looking pretty.grevengrevs wrote:Like others have mentioned, toss it in the truck. If she shoots straight and runs right I wouldn't worry about it.

Re: My worst investment..
Shot 300 rounds of Monarch, Winchester, and federal 9mm FMJ.
Two flaws: One is the trigger pull. It is WAY too long. Though, after shooting about 20 rounds, I got used to it and was .. somewhat satisfied. Two is the slide not staying back. I suspect it might be the magazine. I only have one right now, but going to invest in another one here soon. It only happened 3 times out of 300 rounds.
The pic is only of Monarch ammo (FMJ steel). The right side is my Sig P238.

Re: My worst investment..
Yes, I will. I've been thinking about it and I just might send it back to get it refinished. It's about 50 bucks from Ruger, but I think it'll be worth it. Thing is built really well. I'm MORE than happy with the purchase after shooting it. Darn fine gun if I do say so myself.
Trust me, I'll keep y'all updated. Even if I have to resurrect an old thread![evil :evil2:](./images/smilies/evil-2.gif)

So where did you find this thing? I wouldn't mind finding something like that and spending sometime fixing it up. I see some vendors with used guns but nothing with a deal like that.

Re: My worst investment..
Was my childhood friend father's gun. He didn't take care of it, but knew it shot well. Since I've known his father for quite some time, he let it go very cheap.
Couldn't pass it up.![thumbs2 :thumbs2:](./images/smilies/thumbsup2.gif)

Re: My worst investment..
I've never heard anyone say a bad word about a P89 or P95. It belongs in the car, not the collection. It won't be one you'll be showing to your friends on a velvet pillow in the case. It'll be the one you need, when you need it. My FIL had a P89 that had never been fired and he just gave it away to his son (who may never fire it), instead of to me. I still won't have him over to the house.
