Should this go in "Never Again?"

Man tries to stash his .22 in a planter box (to retrieve later) rather than check it in his luggage. I'm a little suprised that security allowed him any options at all. Not sure how they knew he had it on him. Maybe he asked before actually going through/into security?

It fits here or off topic. Never again is really for things that happen to members and they want to share.

Color me confused, but I thought it was an auto detain and arrest for anyone forgetful (or dumb) enough to get to the TSA checkpoint with a weapon. I was not sure how this gentleman was able to retreat from the checkpoint without being detained. Digging a little further, according to TSA, the gentleman asked an agent what to do with the 'forgotten' weapon prior to getting in line. The rest is history.

Seemingly, that week was a busy week for TSA at Portland. This .22 was one of four handguns found at PDX that week.

Jumping to the link offered by CEWAIT, what amazes me is not "How many" guns were discovered, but that of those firearms which were loaded, how most DID NOT have one chambered.
