Getting the Itch (again)

i really like smith and wesson 1911's. personally i would go with a les baer or wilson combat for somthing a little better. ofcourse the only "real" 1911 is a colt.

even a hi-point would be tight compared to a glock tho.

Just to give my opinion, I will never buy a Springfield product again. I am unhappy with the customer service.
I would +1 the STI guns.

Um, they're really more in the 700-800 range.

I've seen deals on them in the 625-675 range lately. Though really the spartan isn't much better than an armscor from what I've read, other than sti doing the fitting

*sigh* That Spartan III is cheaper than I can get it from STI wholesale. I'd have to buy at least 1000 units to even get a smidgeon of a profit at that price.

I'm tellin you folks: If you want to go into a profitable business, sell women's shoes, cuz gun sales is NOT a profitable business.

Looks like it is going to be the Kimber Custom II which is the one I handled the other day and liked because it felt real solid and very tight and the guy who owned it had not one complaint about it. Actually field stripped and cleaned it after my wife shot it last week. The fellow who is getting it for me said all his wholesalers are out of it right now but he will be checking every week or so. He is getting it for me for $673 + tax. Heck, who knows, maybe I will be getting rid of my Glocks and get a few more 1911's in the future.

Kimber Custom II, I like it. You got a great price too, good job.

I love reading bac1023's "Buyer's Guide" to 1911s. Last I saw, he owns 50-60 and he reviews a ton of them, sorted by price range (to start anyway) here http://www.1911addicts.com/showthread.p ... 11-addicts. There's other great resources out there, but even just for the entertainment value and all the pictures, I like that post. =)

yup 1911's are fun but i dont find them as "practical" as a glock, etc.
Probably going to sell off my springfield lw champion i bought for carry....too heavy/bulky for my tastes


but once you start in on the 1911 stuff it gets expensive fast, same for hk

Actually that comment about getting rid of my Glocks was made tongue in cheek. I don't have a G21 but have a 30 and 36. Heck, I even have a 29 for the serious stuff. I really like Glock (maybe not the gen 4's) but always wanted a 1911.
