League City man poses as Attorney

#1

Post by WildBill »

League City seems to be getting in the news. A man was arrested for theft when he offered to represent clients with legal help.

Court records state that a League City man paid Estrada about $15,000 in December to provide legal help with immigration issues. The man’s sister paid him another $5,000 in January but neither received any work from Estrada, records state.

Two other people said they paid Estrada a total of $2,250 in cash last year for help with immigration paper work but received no services from him, records state.

The only thing worse than a crooked attorney is a crooked person impersonating a crooked attorney! :evil2:

Probably can, but I'll bet he overstates his billable hours.

Probably can, but I'll bet he overstates his billable hours.
But it doesn't matter because he has no intention of paying the bill anyway.
Which, of course, means he can then sue himself for payment.

Unverified, but I heard that they surrendered them rather than being disbarred. :thumbs2:

Through their website the Illinois State Bar Association won't even tell you if a lawyer has been disciplined. Apparently if you are not a member of the Illinois Bar you aren't allowed to know. How underhanded & deceitful is that? :mad5 :smash:
I won't be wronged, I won't be insulted, and I won't be laid a hand on.
I don't do those things to other people and I require the same of them.
