New member looking for pocket carry option

Hey guys. Great forum!

My plastic shipped a few days ago, but now I am looking for something that works for pocket carry. I have a Glock 23 in a Crossbreed that is going to work for most situations but am looking for a pocket carry pistol.

I am not a big fan of snubbies as they suck to shoot IMHO. Preferably 9mm or bigger in a semi-auto format or even a revolver that works for a guy with big hands.

What "works for pocket carry" depends on the pants a lot

I often wear the Men's Brawny 10-oz. With regular Wrangler cargo shorts I front pocket (not cargo pocket) carry a Keltec P11 (9mm) with a 12 round mag, or a Keltec PF9, or a Taurus PT709, those kind of push the limit for "regular" front pocket carry, and you'll want an untucked extra-tall long Tee Shirt ... If I had a Kahr PM9, I'd carry it because it's even smaller... A few cousins carry small light Keltec P3AT in front pockets ... but I don't carry .380s out of the house usually, except to the range.

Weight ...
Weight is as much a consideration as size.
A small North American Arms .380 weighs more than a Keltec pf9

The Keltec P11, being a double stack, gives me a better grip than the thin single stack small 9mms.

Get a good kydex reinforced gun belt.

CW9, yes....my wife carries one and its an excellent gun. But if you want pocketable, go for the CM9.

I've pocket carried a pm9 and glock26 easily in cargo shorts
The pm9 (cm9 is cheaper ) is the easier of the two to carry in pants with smaller pockets

I have a Sig P-230 SL for when circumstances dictate pocket carry. Of course, everyone knows a .380 acp is inadequate so I've been working on my quick draw and pistol throwing technique. If that fails, I have my Leatherman for backup.

I pocket carry a XD40SC in the pockets of 5.11 tactical pants. I pocket carry a LCP when my jeans are too tight for other options. (I know you said 9mm, but .380 in my pocket is better than a .45 out in the parking lot). Be sure to get a holster to cover the trigger, DeSantis makes different models. You also need to move everything out of the carry pocket, don't want your keys pushing the bang switch.

+1 on the Remora. Serves well as either pocket carry or IWB. My Remoras have replaced a whole drawer full of other holsters accumulated during the years.

I pocket carry a PM9 in cargo shorts, right front pocket. But mostly carry it iwb in a cross breed mini tuck, as it's less bulky for me that way. when I really need to pocket carry, my Seecamp lws380 in a bearcreek back pocket holster simply disappears. I use that mostly at work in dress slacks and a golf shirt, drop in pocket and forget about it.

I pocket carry a Ruger LC9 in a Desantis Nemesis frequently (several times a week). Only when I'm wearing dress pants which have shallow pockets is it a problem. In most of my dress pants its indistinguishable as a gun -- it looks like a large cell phone. In jeans or cargo shorts you can hardly even see the slight bulge. I dont think I'd want anything bigger or thicker than the LC9 though.

Another vote for Remora holsters. My wife and use them and they're great!

As far as small pocket guns we like the Beretta Nano, Keltec PF9, Sig P938, and a bit bigger the M&P Shield.
The most comfortable to shoot is the Shield, although it is a bit larger than the others. It feels more like a larger pistol.
We like the Nano.
The PF9 is no fun to shoot and the trigger sucks but it works.
The P938 is good but the verdict is still out. We havent shot it enough just yet, but it's ok.
