That's what's wrong with America. The revolving door justice. After the 2nd or 3rd conviction for violent crime we should revoke their citizenship and kick them out of the USA. If they aren't willing to live by the rules of this society, kick them out of this society and let them find out how their criminal lifestyle fares in Mexico or Singapore.DocV wrote:One of these fine examples of misguided yoot went on to bigger and better crimes

Re: ... and this is what is wrong with America
Sociopaths, yes. But also they have absolutely no respect for what belongs to others.
Lesson to self - There are those who just absolutely have no concept of ownership by others. Those people will not hesitate to take from me for themselves anything they have a whim to take. And if they get caught, then it obviously is my fault.
I cannot fathom having this mindset, but it is completely clear to me, from this and other videos I have seen, that there are those who believe if they can get it, however they get it, then it is theirs to take and they will have no remorse or regret in the taking, regardless of the harm caused to me, either physical or emotional. I consider this type of person sheer animal, as they obviously have not been accepted societal standards and therefor are not true members of society as such.
I also personally need to accept the above in order to be able to prepare myself to be able to recognize and avoid, as much as possible, coming within range of these animals. It is hard to imagine such a foreign mindset, and that is the danger I face - not imagining the mindset and therefore potentially being paralyzed should I ever come face to face with it.
Just my Tuesday afternoon philosophizing.

So what you are saying is that they are democrats?LikesShinyThings wrote:There are those who just absolutely have no concept of ownership by others. I... ... I ... I just can't come up with a counter to that. Though I have to admit I don't think of dems as animals, and it certainly wasn't my original intent, I'm having trouble disagreeing with your twist on what I wrote.terryg wrote:So what you are saying is that they are democrats?LikesShinyThings wrote:There are those who just absolutely have no concept of ownership by others. I think that is one of the personality disorders that describes a sociopaths. No respect for things or feelings of others.LikesShinyThings wrote:Sociopaths, yes. But also they have absolutely no respect for what belongs to others.

Re: ... and this is what is wrong with America
I just want to add my two cents.
I agree with the observations made previously. I believe sociopath is a good clinical diagnosis.
I also believe these girls illustrate our society's failure to teach kids to grow up. IMO I see adult kids who really need some hard consequences. I have no sympathy for them or their families. Maybe I'm just a grumpy old guy, but I see value in suffering for poor choices.
Thanks for the bandwidth.

If you do not believe in God, and you do not fear the law, why not do whatever you want?
I can think of two reasons...
1) Because it's the right thing to do (religion not withstanding)
2) Because you might very well get shot (police not withstanding)
Range Rule: "The front gate lock is not an acceptable target."
Never Forget.

...because, carried to its ultimate end, that means a dismissal of ALL of the rules of society and a reversion to the cave man like "survival of the fittest." The biggest baddest GUY on the block takes all of the food. I suspect that these two frail young females would not fare well in that kind of an arrangement. If these girls can just take what they want, so can anyone else. It would be interesting to have that conversation with them.george wrote:I think there is only one reason to conform to social norms, and that is fear of reprisal from either God, or the law.

The government takes from those who have and gives to those that don't. These people just decided to eliminate the middle man.LikesShinyThings wrote:Sociopaths, yes. But also they have absolutely no respect for what belongs to others.

...taught by poor example not to listen to and learn from the old folks, they don't listen to their parents...and get their values, if any, from what's cool at the moment...it does indeed come back to the family...whether the result is good or bad...it starts at home...and you're right, punishment is a thorough teacher!!!

But don't you know that punishment bruises their poor little psyche? And that they should be rewarded for all participation, no matter what the outcome is? We can't risk embarrassing or traumatizing our kids.

An entire generation of kids has been raised to believe they're entitled to what their parents and grandparents had to work hard to get. Rules don't apply to them. And they've got the right to do or say anything they want, without consequence. And a lot of it is our generations fault for coddling our kids.
