...walkin' 'round with steak tied 'round yer neck, don't be surprised when the dogs show up...
Re: Fedral US marshal fake
I'm sure it sucked being a victim of a snatch-and-grab, but a $30k rolex on a car salesman?
The car business sure must be lucrative. I'd be asking some pointed questions involving receipts and points of purchase if I were that guy's insurance agent.

I would think car dealerships have cameras or some video equipment.
shouldn't be too hard to see the incident unfold.
But, saying that.....I'd be real suspicious of just randomly getting 30k+ bling lifted......

Why? Is he guilty of something? Is there a crime in owning a 30k rolex? What if he inherited it and doesn't have a receipt?Acer wrote:I'm sure it sucked being a victim of a snatch-and-grab, but a $30k rolex on a car salesman?

Re: Fedral US marshal fake
I'm calling it a scam.......
He MAY have had a 30k Rolex but probably sold it. Then bought a fake to wear in it's place and set up this 'Robbery/Arrest" where the fake was stolen and insurance claim filed.
This sounds more likely as a Car Salesman to me.
I have a 7K Rolex and nobody is robbing me!

Did anyone read the article?
"He took everything I had, even down to my handkerchief and lip balm," said McCall. The jewelry was not insured.

I am always surprised when members of this forum find ways to blame the victim for the actions of criminals. My wife wears a ring that is worth more than my truck, does that mean she is asking to get robbed?

...this one has my vote as most likely...if not for insurance, for a tax loss...if it's a real deal, he's stupid...which is different from illegal, but the result's the same...
