Looks like gun control in Canada doesn't work too well

TORONTO (AP) — A gunman fired shots in a crowded food court in one of Canada's busiest malls Saturday killing a man and injuring seven others, police said.

Police Chief Bill Blair said the shooting at Eaton Centre in downtown Toronto targeted one individual and there were a number of innocent bystanders. Police constable Victor Kwong said two people were in critical condition after being shot at the Eaton Centre in downtown Toronto, including a 13-year old boy. The 25-year-old man who was killed died at the scene, he said.

Eaton Center is very much like either the Houston or Dallas Galleria. Not where you would expect trouble except maybe in the parking garage. Did they legalize rifles, or did they just get rid of the registry? I know they made a small step recently towards legalization.

They stopped long-gun registery at Fed level. Ontario province (Toronto is in Ontario) refused the Fed relaxation of gun measures and would start registry of it is own.

The incident is a "hit" on someone and the idiot hit-man wanted to have some extra marks. Gangs on Gangs do not follow the law, that is a "revelation" for the ON LEO and Lawmakers.

We've been there a couple of times - a very upscale humongous mall. Toronto was (is?) a very safe city - we wandered all over downtown a few years ago and always felt very safe. I was impressed with how clean it was (is?)

Gun Control does not work anywhere. Criminals do not observe useless Gun Control Laws. Any Politician that speaks the words "Gun Control" (or "Sensible Measures") should be immediately removed from Office. MaoBama INCLUDED!

Apparently, the voting majority of Canadians; particularly, the eastern half of them are okay with their gun control laws. Had that happened in the Galleria in Houston....?

this is why deserters love Canada...because no one shoots at you up there
Some parents say it is toy guns that make boys warlike. But give a boy a rubber duck and he will seize its neck like the butt of a pistol and shout "Bang!"......George Will

Yup. The folks in the western part of Canada are very different from their cosmopolitan (that is a euphemism for liberal) brothers and sisters in the east.

I felt safe in Montreal until I saw two man pass a large knife from one to the other. I made an immediate one eighty and hightailed it out of there. I was in a touristy area too.

See in that case gun control worked, they switched to knives to threaten and rob tourists.
