Oregon as wacky as Kalifornia...or this an aberration?

The judge:
"I'm shocked," Norby said. "No one goes out with a full clip (in a gun) to garden unless they intend to use it."
"What you did on this day would shock the consciousness" of any community, she said. "It makes me question your mental health."
"Journalism, n. A job for people who flunked out of STEM courses, enjoy making up stories, and have no detectable integrity or morals."

Doesn't say anything about a trial by jury.

I'd demand one.
I am not a lawyer. This is NOT legal advice.!

This is insane. We have two sotries on here today. One in which a man on his own property is menaced by a dog that had been roaming and menacing before and defends himself and gets jail. Then we have a story of a police officer that goes to the wrong house and shoots a dog that was likely walking up to say hello to him and he gets a pass? Whats going on here! This is insane.

What I want to know is this: would it actually SHOCK the consciousness of ANY community? Say, maybe some small town in North Dakota, or West Texas, or Georgia? Or did it just shock HER because SHE has a problem with firearms and doesn't like them?

I wonder if she thought these officers acted irresponsibly?

I am not and have never been a LEO. My avatar is in honor of my friend, Dallas Police Sargent Michael Smith, who was murdered along with four other officers in Dallas on 7.7.2016.

Oregon IS just as wacky as California if not more, especially the Portland area.

A mass migration from California to [mostly Portland] Oregon started in the late 70s when housing prices in California went out of control. Now the housing prices in and people in Portland are out of control.

Native and long time Oregonians still don't like people from California. There is a sign at the CA-OR border "Welcome To Oregon - Now Go Home." :thumbs2:

I'd appeal if I were him. To me, such comments clearly indicate bias on the part of the judge.
I am not a lawyer, nor have I played one on TV, nor did I stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night, nor should anything I say be taken as legal advice. If it is important that any information be accurate, do not use me as the only source.

It's not called the "Left Coast" for nothing. East of the Cascades, Oregonians are pretty much like us.
