MATHIS — Students were not being allowed on the Mathis High School campus Tuesday morning because of a possible gunman in the area.
Mathis police were looking for the person who burglarized a Texas Parks and Wildlife vehicle on Lamar Street. A rifle was one of the items taken from the vehicle and as a precaution, Mathis ISD locked down the campus at about 6:35 a.m., superintendent Maria Rodriguez-Casas said.
