...QUALITY hamburgers are hard to find these days...the big name stores are low-quality for sure...my fav used to be BK, but the Whopper of today doesn't bear even a slight resemblance to the Whopper of 1967...

The definition of provoked is becoming less and less and less. It used to mean if you went up to someone and called them dirty names and told them about their momma--that was provoking. Now saying "thats not cool" to people throwing trash on the ground is "provoking" and can justify a beating? REALLY?!? Cause if that is the case then teachers the world over provoke people when they tell kids to pick up their trash. If this continues we are going to end up at a place where simply being somewhere is considered "provoking" and justifies a beating.

So it is clear they were BITING her hard enough to break the skin! If they have Hepititus, HIV, etc etc that can be a deadly assault. You come over to my car and start to try and bite me you are at minimum getting a face full of pepper spray. The grape soda is assault, simple assault. But the biting and the punching in the face--that is aggravated assault. That can kill. Now it would be better to try and get her window up and get away and then call the cops, rather than shoot them, but if telling a person "it's not cool to litter" makes aggravated assault ok in TX, then that is not a good place to be.

After reading all 4 pages--this is the best.
Where and how do you know what an attack is going to bring? One punch or slap or bite and it's over OR is it going to continue until your dead? I for one won't let it continue if at all possible and if does and they find me dead it will be with an empty weapon :biggrinjester:

I also grew up in the 50's and 60's (Vietnam in 67--grew up really fast there)
I have a hard time not telling people when they are doing something wrong--but I try hard to keep my mouth shut --sometimes

Again, I guess we're going to have to agree to disagree. My experience is that low-life thugs want nothing to do with the police. Even when one is the "good guy", the police want ID, and usually run a quick warrant check.

Interestingly, at a, get this - McDonald's, in Dallas, I had a car with a couple similar low-lifes (from the descriptions given) that felt me leaving a half car length in front of me warranted them getting out of line behind me, and trying to squeeze in front of me. I moved forward, turned enough to avoid the corner of their car that was butting in, and reclaimed my place in the drive through line. The driver got out of her car (a female no less), and threatened to whip my caucasion posterior (the g-rated version). I had rolled the window down enough for her to talk, but not enough to actually reach in. I held up my phone so she could see, and started dialing as I said "Calling 911 right now, would you like to speak to them?".

They left.

Something we can all agree on, Five Guys rock (we do have them in the DFW area).

Isn't it interesting, we're all willing to pay extra for Five Guys, MooYa, In and Out, etc, to get the same old sloppy, greasy, delicious "specialty burgers" that everyone served when we were kids, so we can avoid the fast food places with their almost all the same cardboard burgers?

...last public altercation I had with a thug...solicitor got mouthy when told to leave the pawn shop...had ignored the eye-level sign and come in to "pitch" a customer in our store...told me he didn't have to leave and I couldn't make him...I came out from behind the counter and he yelled "I'll drop you, white man" several times while backing out of the store and out the door...I didn't say a thing but just kept coming...his hands were empty and he never saw the .45 on my hip...the boss had called 911 and when they got there...they took him in on a warrant outstanding, impounded his car, since they also took his girlfriend in for driving without a license...guess he forgot he had the warrant...guess he expected an old fat greyhair to be easily intimidated...thugs are thugs because they aren't smart enough to be good citizens...or even good criminals...they just caught Saturday a guy wanted for several robberies...his pic's been all over the news...speeding...the downside's that a common thug showing his butt in public may well be much more dangerous than just obnoxious...pick your battles wisely...

If the tide has turned, along with the subject, and we are talking about who has the best burger, put me down for Pappa's Bar-B-Q. If you have not tried one of their burgers yet, please do so. I find them to be the juiciest, heaviest (doubles) burgers with the freshest vegetables. Can't say I've ever had a better burger than Pappa's.

She made the mistake of pointing out littering. So if she was a CHL and defended herself with her gun would she be in Zimmerman's shoes.

...if you mean wishing with all your heart you could have a do-over...she's probably already in his shoes...maybe she learned a lesson about minding her own business in public and not appointing herself to correct those around her...

...they were totally wrong and broke the law...she was totally wrong first and provoked the incident...had she kept her trap shut...it wouldn't have happened...

We have become so intolerant that we think everyone has to have the same outlook as we do. If someone is a slob, it's their right to be so, as long as they aren't trashing my yard.

But today, it's like, I don't litter, so you're scum if you do.

If you don't vote the way I like, then you're an idiot.

I drive like this, and you don't belong on the road if you don't drive my way.
