Pretty secy in office next door abducted from parking garage

This will probably not make the news. A young pretty secretary who works in the investment office next door was abducted from our parking garage today.

I work in what I felt was a safe location. A man hid between the cars on the top level of the garage and just waited. He quickly approached her with a gun and demanded her purse. I am making an assumption, but I assume after he saw her, he decided to take her and her car with him.

He headed downtown and she got brave and bailed from the car. Probably saving her life.

She is obviously pretty shook up.

Sometimes, it pays to be ugly. No one has ever tried to abduct me. Heck, most folk won't even wave. IIRC, mother had to tie a pork chop around my neck before the dog would let me pet her.

I wouldn't consider any public parking lot, and especially a garage, to be a safe location. I don't know what the statistics are, but they're the preferred venue for many robberies, rapes, assaults, and murders. And the advice I believe in when it comes to an abduction from a public place, is take the bullet there where there is a chance of being noticed and getting help, rather than get in the car, because when you arrive at the assailant's intended destination you won't be leaving alive and there won't be anyone around to help you.

This brings up an important point. Statistics show (whatever you want them to ) that if an abduction is attempted that the crime rarely happens at the initial location, but later at a secondary location.

Good to hear she got away, oh and there is no "safe Location"

As I've told many a Anti, or otherwise skeptic,, as soon as a list can be published daily of when,and where, and by who all the robbing s, rapes, murders, attacks etc will take place at least 24 hours in advance, with maps, diagrams and attacker pictures I'd be happy to no longer walk out the door each day prepared to stop the attack, should it happen.

Yeah, I've made a lifestyle choice to avoid the "Iron Triangle" of bad places with bad people doing bad things. If I thought someplace was dangerous, I avoid going there.

Since I carry everyday, by definition I am carrying in places most people regard as "safe". Bad things can happen anywhere; all we can do is minimize the probability and be prepared for the improbable.

Wait, since when do we segregate our cities into... Oooooooooooooh....... museum area, got it. I read that as "Muslim area" and was thoroughly confused. Yeah, "museum area" makes a lot more sense.

When I took a women's defense course (non-gun) they said to always fight fight fight and never stop fighting. If you die, well there is nothing you can do about it but never ever give up. Never ever go with anyone you don't want to (abduction) and even when you think fighting means certain death not fighting means a worse death. As bad as it would be to be shot and die that way, it would be far worse to be raped repeatedly, beaten, tortured, then strangled to death. Perhaps it is a bit of a vain hope, but human predators (like animal predators) usually don't want to get hurt in the process of gaining their prey (or so I was told by the LEO doing the class) so even if you can't kill with your bare hands injure just as badly as you can and go for weak spots (eyes, nose, ears, shins, toes, groin [of course--but it is the first thing protected by an attacker so other places may be more available]).
