Wait, what? Am I reading this right? "We're worried that someone is going to come shoot up the place, so we're not going to let anybody leave and get to safety."

:banghead:

Just for my own edification, if I ever have kids and they're in a school that's "locked-down" because officials believe someone is on their way to the school to start killing people, what's the best way to get my hypothetical children out?
Home Schooling!
We homeschool, but it's a valid question that I have often wondered. . .

If a school is on "lockdown" (for something like this or severe weather), can you go and retrieve your own kids? What recourse do you have in that moment if you want custody of your children? Is a "lockdown" a legally protected event where thousands of kids can be detained away from their parents without a warrant "for their own safety"?

Without knowing the law, my inclination is that it's akin to refusing services from an ambulance or hospital. They'll make it sound like you don't have a choice, but they can't physically restrain you and prevent you from leaving. In the school case, if they can detain you until they give the "all clear", then all I can say is, "Wow" and shake my head.

IMO..The bullies are just talking trash...She actually had proof of a possible threat. Yes, if they did nothing, but what are the schools going to do.. ISS...OOooo you sit in a room and do nothing all day..She brought a loaded clip on the school grounds, and probably with a CHL. So she will be chagred on that too for the bullets, since you don't need just a gun for a bullet to go off.

For example, I got lucky once in HS, because I had a drug dog sniffing my car and it was searched and found a (1) firework that was littlery about 6-7 months old, and I didn't even know it was in there. They gave me a warning.

Also, the parents fault for not speaking up before..ITS TOO LATE TOO TALK ABOUT IT NOW..Should of said something when it started and not until you did something.. If they spoke up, it would probable have gone a different way with the school handleing the situation., this is all IMO though.

For example, my Ops manager told me I can not be excused from overtime, due to it would be unfair to other employees if they had to come to work and I didn't beacuce I was in school...I was a wuss to not say that to the GM, and i regret it, but if I work there again..The next down talking I get will be viewed as harrassament..There is more than 1 story with my Ops about disrespect, and downtalking, but that was just 1 case. So what I am saying is..If I brought it up now; My GM and HR would say you should have brought it up then and not now.
