I need help with Internet Explorer please.

Post by x007x »

Hello, I am pretty good with computers, but I am having problems with internet explorer and I have notice its not happening on Firefox. I prefer IE though..Okay, well I am having display problems. For example, not everything will show up on some pages until i move the mouse over it or highlight it with the mouse. I am not sure what it causing it, but it started about a month ago. I have virus protection, but nothing shows up on the cookies, virus, bugs, or misc. I clean my computer files regularly.
Here are some examples I have taken.

I also have DSL atm, but its has never been a problem for over the year.

Thank you for the help

If its a new problem it is probably related to the page file on the computer or the cache of the browser. Later versions of windows typically don't have issues with clearing the page file (virtual memory) so I'm betting its a cache issue. In IE go to "Tools>Internet Options>General>Clear History" By default it clears the temporary files (cache) as well. I also recommend CCleaner and run it regularly. It gives you complete control on what you clear and what to do with it and it's free.

Internet Exploder needs help with Internet Explorer.

Go to "Tools", then "Zoom", and see if it is set to 100%. Mine sometimes jumps to 125% for no apparent reason.

I had it preset to 125%, but I'll try 100%...Wow, That fixed it for this site. I can not remember which other sites it did it too, but I guess the preset zoom got changed to 125%. It sucks that something that simple fixed it, and that I did not think of doing that, but good at the same time.
Thanks.

I use Firefox, but I sure wish they would fix their memory leak. It should not be using 1.5 gigs of memory with one blank tab open.

IE, IMHO, is not worth trying. We are forced to use it at work and there are many websites that I cannot use because of IE's limitations.

I use Firefox at home and have never had any problems.
