It wasn't any trouble....just more disturbed two different ones signed that they verified the gun was unloaded and neither one did.

Better yet, if it's a ___ hour drive or closer, just drive there in your own car! (Fill in the blank for the number of hours you can tolerate for the drive.) By the time I leave for the airport 2 or 3 hours before departure, actually fly to my destination, then spend another 2 hours getting baggage and a rental car and then driving to the hotel or meeting location, I could have driven myself.

I have had some ticket agents want to see the gun in the case, some put the filled out form in the case, some taped it to the outside of the case, some don't look, sometimes they have taken me to a small room where a TSA person examines it, sometimes not, sometimes I've been asked to standby near the ticket counter after the bag is x-rayed in case there is a question, sometimes not.
Yes, I have experienced all of the above, and then some. It is largely a charade.

Yeah I kind of thought this process was strange also. They had me unlock the case the firearm was in and basically let them see it and the box of ammo were separate. They did not verify that it wasn't ready to rock though. :headscratch
