I have searched online about the Sig P250 and the SP2022 to compare and contrast. Can anyone tell me the distinct differences or preferences from one over the other?
Feedback is appreciated!

Re: Sig P250 vs 2022
The P250 has in my opinion, a better ergonomic fit than the 2022. However, the P250 also has a very long Double Action Only trigger, while the 2022 is DA/SA. So you have to decide which is more important to you, ergonomics or trigger function? Both of them work well. Also, the 250 is modular, allowing you many different combos of grips, sizes, and calibers, all of which are a separate purchase of course.
Re: Sig P250 vs 2022
Although both are Sigs they are actually 2 different guns. The P250 is actually one of my favorites of all the guns I own. As mentioned tha DAO trippger is long and very smooth, one of the very best DAO triggers on the market and easily mastered, once you do the length of pull becomes a non-issue. It breaks down and cleans very easily, easier than a Glock . The conversion kits are a plus but a bit pricey and they have different size grip modules so you can fit it to your hands better if needed. They come in 3 different models, the full size, compact and sub-compact and in various calibers. I have the compact 9mm with over 15k rounds through it and it shoots as good as new. My wife's favorite gun is the 2022, hers is the German model and she shoots it very well, they are more of a full size gun and IMO not really made for concealed carry. They have the DA/SA triggers and the DA pull is nothing to write home about, the SA pull is rather nice and crisp. My only knock on the gun is that it is a pain to break down to clean as compared to other Sigs. You cannot really go wrong with either model as the price points are great and they are quality handguns. I would suggest the night sights and that will run the price up a bit although it is worth it.

in my opinion (which is worth what you paid for it) the 2022 is a better choice then the 250, and thats just beause I would take a DA/SA gun over a DAO any day of the week. that being said, the 250 is a great gun and either would be a good choice.pmcdn wrote:I have searched online about the Sig P250 and the SP2022 to compare and contrast. the 2022 happens to be my go to recommendation gun for people looking for quality in the more affordable price range
This is a good point, the compact 250 will be shorter, but that being said dont let this scare you, I can cary my 226 which is larger then 2022 so its not impossible.they are more of a full size gun and IMO not really made for concealed carry.
Another good point I dont understand why they didnt put the break down lever on it like all the other sigsMy only knock on the gun is that it is a pain to break down to clean as compared to other Sigs.
I honestly think it is more of a trigger preference choice then anything.
Re: Sig P250 vs 2022
I've handled and shot a 2022, but not a P250, so I only can comment on the former.
My mother has a SP2022 in 9mm, and it is her house gun. The DA is ok, and the SA is indeed nice. She has small hands, but the switchable grips helped the gun fit her hand better. We both dig how it doesn't have external safeties. The decocker works well and is positioned just right. It feels rock solid, and the price is excellent IMHO. It's easy to shoot well with. Just about the only ding I can give it is the take down/field strip: I can manage to remove the take down lever/pin without much issue, but it's nigh impossible for my mom. She doesn't have hand strength issues, or arthritis or anything like that, but it takes a bit of work and pressure with your hands to get the pin to pop out since you have to hold the slide back in position while you are attempting to do so. I do know that the pin becomes looser the more you break it down, and I'm sure that helps, but man I really wish SIG had run a different approach. The mags can also be a little pricey as well, and hers only came with one 15 rounder.
Still though, I like it enough to want one myself!
