The things you will need:

Firearm (obv)
Holster
100 rounds of ammo will be plenty, we usually shoot 60-70 rounds on a Monday night
Eye protection
Hearing protection
3-4 mags, you can get away with 2 mags, but best to have an extra or 2.

If your new to IDPA, don't bother with a cover garment, it isn't required for new shooters and we would rather you not throw in that one extra thing to deal with until you get comfortable shooting the courses safely. New shooter orientation starts at 6:00 and is required for new shooters.

Look forward to seeing you tomorrow night! I'll be the short fat guy in the camouflage ball cap. :fire

ETA the mags.

Quick comments--
Add to the list--
double mag holder (plastic material or leather , not cloth)
re: Holster-- again, plastic material or leather-- Not a cloth model or one with a flap. Its too dificult to reholster with a cloth model, taking two hands and usually results in sweeping across one's other hand in the process.
Check the IDPA web site for their rulings on holsters.

Necro-bump!

I shot my first match in like a year on Monday, and I have a kind of dumb question. How are the scores published these days? Are they e-mailed out (I kind of assume that this is at least a possibility, since the score sheets have a field for e-mail address)? What's the usual turnaround time? I ask because I haven't heard anything, which normally wouldn't concern me, but for the fact that my handwriting is terrible, so my e-mail address frequently winds up being illegible when I write it down.

Figure there was at least one forum member there as well who could help out. Thanks.

they are sent out by e-mail and usually out the next day in the afternoon. If you did not get yours, I will ask Canvasbck if he had your e-mail. If he cannot read it or mis read it then it may have been lost. but send a PM to Canvasbck here. He and I are two of the SOs for Monday nights.

I sent out the scores Tuesday morning. You may have been one of the three that came back undeliverable. PM me and I will send to you.

ETA: Never mind, I got your E-mail off here. E-mail sent with scores. :tiphat:

They charge $20 for the Monday night matches. New shooter orientation starts at 6:00, better to be there by about 5:45. We start shooting at 6:30.

Just a note that the IDPA allows your first match to be gratis (other than local club fees), but you need to be a member of the IDPA in order to shoot subsequent matches.
