Down here they have had several deaths from people leaving kids in cars,One family forgot a small child in the car until several hours had passed,by the time they started missing him he was found dead in the car from the heat,Most recent incident a Female that birthed a couple of kids left them in the car while she went inside a club to party.
It is said that if you line up all the cars in the world end-to-end, someone would be stupid enough to try to pass them

SewTexas wrote:in this area you'll also get those with DV plates parking in handicap spots....well, those mean two different things...you can be a disabled vet, but not be "handicapped" so as to need a handicap parking space, you may have lost a finger or two and earned the plates, but not a wheel chair plate. It's a biggie with me...I drive my FIL, he earned both!
The Texas DMV site states that DV-plates are indeed the same as Handicapped-plates.
and MILITARY Disabled Veteran license plates feature "DV" as part of the license plate number…as part of the license plate number. DV-designated plates provide the same parking rights…
I am a "Disabled" Veteran, but I have a Zero-percent disability rating. That means that I don't get any money or a DV plate. I do get free VA Medical services for the rest of my life.

The parents got their kids back. I hope they learned their lesson, especially with a 3rd on the way.

I have sometimes approached them and they'll say "My placard's on the dashboard."

Sure enough - when I pass closer to the car, the placard is laying flat on the dashboard, instead of
hanging from the inside rearview mirror like it's supposed to be. Sheesh!

One of my pet peeves is someone perfectly healthy using someone else's placard to park in a HC parking spot. I would love to see them get one of those $500 parking tickets.

If the placard doesn't belong to someone in the vehicle, it is illegal to use the HC spot.
I won't be wronged, I won't be insulted, and I won't be laid a hand on.
I don't do those things to other people and I require the same of them.
