The officer leaves behind two daughters, ages 10 and 6, and his parents.

My condolences go out to this officer's family and the entire law enforcement community for their loss. I hope this guy pays the ultimate price.

Makes you wish burning at the stake was back in vogue.

Here's fox's article on it:

http://www.foxnews.com/us/2012/04/06/of ... p=trending
Padron was responding to a call about a drunk man inside the store around 2:30 a.m...
I always wonder what the people who think violence will end if we get rid of guns...there will still be drunken idiots who will find a way to hurt and kill people (yes, I know this drunk guy had a gun, I'm taking it a step further).
Two Walmart employees tackled and held the suspect and locked down the store until another police officer arrived to arrest him. Acevedo praised their actions, saying they did all they were supposed to do. He said store video captured the entire incident.
These two guys truly are awesome. I'm very glad to hear the police chief give them praise for their actions instead of chastise them.

Considering what an anti Acevedo is (Kali transplant), him praising citizens for any sort of action at all is surprising.

This is a very sad story...T&P for the officer and his family.

I agree :tiphat:

but the cynic in me wonders if theyll be fired for violating Wal Mart employee policy (in back of my head seem to remember cases of Wal Mart employees being fired for apprehending theft and/robbery suspects)

Umm, I'd guess the policies might be a little different in confronting a man with a gun that just shot a cop. But you never know...
