His dad is not a "local" magistrate. He's a retired Virginia judge.

Re: Zimmerman/Martin Shooting in Texas Analysis
I have seen plenty of head injuries and bloody noses stop bleeding in minutes, much less hours.speedsix wrote:...saw the video of Z in cuffs going from the squad car into the police station on two stations tonight...no visible sign of injury to either nose or back of head...not even a band-aid...unlikely that a medic would not put some kind of covering on the head "injuries"...we still don't have the truth about what happened after they began to interact...maybe some more witnesses will make an entrance...

...so have I, but I have seen medics put a bandage on head wounds to keep them clean, and something on a broken nose to keep it still...plenty of times...one of the videos on the news zoomed in when the back of his head was turned to the camera...no visible damage...just shine...
...with the "facts" changing and contradicting each other...before you can do an accurate analysis, you have to either find out what the facts are...or choose the set you want to accept...or the analysis won't be worth anything...too many controversial sides to the story at this point...

Re: Zimmerman/Martin Shooting in Texas Analysis
The video that I saw on the news that "zoomed in" was merely blowing up the existing video, not actually zooming in, which may not, CSI shows not withstanding, enhance information that was not there to begin with. Even small head injuries tend to bleed a lot, but it's entirely possible that in the intervening hours the patient decided, unilaterally, to remove bandages because the bleeding stopped.speedsix wrote:...so have I, but I have seen medics put a bandage on head wounds to keep them clean, and something on a broken nose to keep it still...plenty of times...one of the videos on the news zoomed in when the back of his head was turned to the camera...no visible damage...just shine...

I agree about the "facts" which we will probably never know all of.

Re: Zimmerman/Martin Shooting in Texas Analysis
...videos aside, there are written medical reports and possibly crime scene pictures, as well as the medics' testimony and that of officers on the scene...the clothes he was wearing will have his blood on them, or not...etc, etc, ...the grand jury will have benefit of many more FACTS that nail down injured or not and how badly...we just get what the media promotes...and what is "leaked" in the way of police reports, statements, etc...before the man's future is decided, the 911 tapes will be analyzed to see whose voice it is and isn't calling for help...bushels and barrels of things we won't get here...we're not going to come to agreement on "what happened" here...too many "facts" opposing each other...
...after it's all DONE...this will be a great teaching model...mostly about what NOT to do...

Re: Zimmerman/Martin Shooting in Texas Analysis
I agree the grand jury will have more facts than anybody on Internet forums or the the MSM.
However, this thread was supposed to be about a hypothetical situation in Texas. There are already 2 or 3 threads to discuss the actual case, so can we please keep blurry vdeos and allegations of LEO corruption in those threads?

...what we're getting reminds me of the new insurance salesman who went out and sold a group policy to Sears...and brought all the specimens in in the same bucket...kinda hard to analyze...

This thread is about a hypothetical situation in Texas.
There are already 2 or 3 threads to discuss the actual Zimmerman case, so can we please keep blurry Florida vdeos and allegations of Florida LEO corruption in those threads?

Re: Zimmerman/Martin Shooting in Texas Analysis
...actually it is NOT...it is about the Zimmerman/Martin shooting compared to Texas law...and the facts/assertions/disputed facts/misinformation in the Z/M part are so hazy and constantly changing that the comparison is difficult, if possible at all...but any analysis of the Z/M case (not a hypothetical case) requires comparing FACTS to the Texas law...
(...and the Sears was in Texas...)
...perhaps you might benefit from the "ignore" feature if I disturb you...

Re: Zimmerman/Martin Shooting in Texas Analysis
Regardless of Texas or Florida law, the facts as to who started what are so murky here that, unless a so far unknown witness comes forward, a rational jury would have a very hard time finding Zimmerman guilty "beyond a reasonable doubt" of any kind of murder. An impassioned jury, and some are, might be a different matter.

Lynch mobs are different now. For one thing, they wear hoodies instead of hoods.
I believe the basic political division in this country is not between liberals and conservatives but between those who believe that they should have a say in the personal lives of strangers and those who do not.

Re: Zimmerman/Martin Shooting in Texas Analysis
We don't know how the fight started. If the shooter started the fight and the shootie was believing HIS life was in jeopardy then this analysis is not correct. The shooter goes to jail for a long long time.
