The above link is to a news video story of a Las Vegas, Nevada man who confronted a burglar at 930 AM in what
appears to be a nice middle class neighborhood. The GG fired multiple shots and killed the perp.

The neighbor, Ms. Castro, whose house is close to the burgled home, said a few interesting things during her interview
with the news crew.

She thought there were 2 shots fired. Her husband thought it was 5. Quite a difference in perception.

The other odd thing that she says is that she saw the smoke from the gunfire. Really? Would that even be possible
with a modern day, non-black powder weapon? I think she imagined seeing smoke from gunfire at the neighbor's house.

"Neighbors say they heard what sounded like a motorcycle backfire around 9:30 a.m"
Wolf in the ak has fair amount of smoke. Other brands and cals are smokeless? My Sharps with black power has alot of smoke. Then 5 shoots is not likely. You only need one. "rlol"

The homeowner was taken away in handcuffs as that is standard procedure in Las Vegas.

Bummer, but this happens way more often than one might think. Even in a self defense shooting. Having an attorney you can call is real helpful when something like this happens. I recommend anyone who carries make sure you have an attorney phone number in your wallet with the CHL. Looking up "The Texas Hammer" while you are sitting in county is not what I would call prepared.

Yup. It all depends on the powder used.
I am one of those smoky IDPA'ers.

Actually, most of the smoke is from the lead bullet lube, not the "smokeless" powder.

Regarding 2 shots vs 5, that is one reason we should not make statements to the police immediately after a shooting. There is a lot of sensory distortion that can occur while in the immediate aftermath of a major adrenaline dump.

The VICTIM is lead away in handcuffs?! Man, that is just WRONG! So, Las Vegas cops like to shoot innocent men at Costco and arrest VICTIMS. I also heard that until they passed the state law forbidding them to do so, Las Vegas cops would harass CHLs by requiring that all CHLs REGISTER their guns! Las Vegas really is SIN CITY, where VICTIMS are arrested, innocent men are shot, and child molesters trying to give kids free prono on the strip are NOT arrested. There's nothing worse than crooked cops. Man, am I glad I live in Texas!

If child molesters try to do that stunt here in Texas, I'd bet that a Texas cop would arrest them right quick. God bless Texas! :txflag:

Just so ya know doc. I got arrested when I used a gun in self defense. Spent 2500.00 on a lawyer and 15grand to cover my ten percent of the bond. Verdict.... No billed by grand jury as self defense. I spent two days at lew sterret. Thank god the criminals in that place had some kind of visual that I was dangerous...

This WAS in Texas. It can and DOES happen right here in our very own country. BE PREPARED IF YOU USE A WEAPON IN SELF DEFENSE! EVEN IN TEXAS!!!

Oh yeah.... Almost forgot... :txflag:

FYI: Lew Sterrett (sp?) Justice Center is the large Dallas County jail/courthouse complex in downtown Dallas, near the former Reunion Arena.
