I've been lurking here for several months, reading all the great info and deciding that getting a CHL was for sure something I wanted to do.
Age: 31
Gender: Male
Profession status: Software Engineer
Marital status: married
Years CHL: 0 - mailed the application today
Carry guns/equipment: I have an XD9 Service model... don't know if I'll be carrying that, though.
I'm very new to guns in general - just started shooting in January. It will probably be a while after I get my license that I start carrying.
The main reason I decided to go ahead and get the license now, rather than wait until the day I'm ready to carry is so I don't have to worry about the technicalities of transporting my gun (was I traveling?, was I on a direct route between home & gun range?). Plus, I like the idea of having a "Good Guy Card".

Find one of the older experienced shooters on the board & statr to shoot w/ them. If you are in my neck of the woods give me a holler & I will shoot w/ you.

Just applied for my Texas CHL, but have had Mississippi and Florida permits since 1999. Lived in Canada before that.

I believe in a robust individual rights interpretation of the 2nd Amendment, and that a lot of our laws need to be rolled back.

Thanks for the welcome. The Wing is one fine bike. The only thing it needs now is for it's rider to get his CHL! It has everything else - XM Satelitte Radio, Backrest, Armrest, CB, GPS, Intercom, Cruise.....
Hmmmm, I know the Glock 22 won't fit in the fairing pocket, maybe the Glock 23 will. AFTER I get my CHL.
