If it happened in my front yard with one of my dogs, I might have considered having to protect my property.............

Dog was inside when rent a cop banged on the door. When owner answered dog came out. Rent a cop grabbed owner and dog became defensive. My wiener dogs would get aggressive if you grabbed my wife. So would I, and the dog would be the least of your worries.Beiruty wrote:philip964 wrote:http://www.click2houston.com/news/Patro ... index.html

You leash your dog when you answer the front door? (the article said the owner answered the door and the dog got out)Beiruty wrote:philip964 wrote:http://www.click2houston.com/news/Patro ... index.html

Why the dog was unleashed? Why the dog was shot?
Why was the dog shot? Incompetence from the initial report.
The guard grabbed the home owner and put her between him and the dog?? . He grabbed her?? … lol…pretty sure there is a law against that yes. assault?
An act of assault can be one of three things:
1.Intentionally, knowingly, or recklessly causing bodily injury to another person.
2.Intentionally or knowingly threatening someone with bodily injury.
3.Intentionally or knowingly causing physical contact in a manner considered offensive or provocative.

Exactly. You want to be attacked by a dog, grab or threaten its owner.bronco78 wrote:You leash your dog when you answer the front door? (the article said the owner answered the door and the dog got out)Beiruty wrote:philip964 wrote:http://www.click2houston.com/news/Patro ... index.html

Re: Armed security guard shoots River Oaks family dog
The initial stop at the house and the knock on the door was because of a car parked on the street in front of their house.
I guess I am glad I do not live in River Oaks.
Yesterday there was also a story about a man who was jailed for a "siding violation".

Sounds like the security service and possibly the individual shooter is going to get an expensive lesson.

If neighbors were traumatized over the event imagine how the family is right now.Rex B wrote:Sounds like the security service and possibly the individual shooter is going to get an expensive lesson.

I'd be fighting mad and I'd have a real good lawyer worked into a lather right across the desk from me.

If someone shot my dog after knocking on my door at my house on my property, the situation would turn out poorly for them.

Are armed security guards getting a lot of free press lately, or is it just me?

Re: Armed security guard shoots River Oaks family dog
Some of these home owners associations are out of control. Sorry to say this everyone... but I would have shot the security gard out of my extreme terror that he had gone mad and was going to turn his weapon on me and my family next.... That is what lawyers are for.

No... it seems that way to me also. They act as if they have "batman" authority. Rent-a-cops should not be driving around with weapons. they obviously can't handle the responsibility. What the heck happened to the old days when a rent a cop was suppose to call the real police?Oldgringo wrote:Are armed security guards getting a lot of free press lately, or is it just me?
