Sheriff's investigators say a homeowner, who was trying to stop several men from stealing his motorcycle, fired at the thieves and killed one of them, 19-year-old Benjy Young of West Palm Beach.
I found this item of particular interest. How do you suppose someone with a CHL would punished for the same act?
In May, Young pleaded guilty to attempted first degree murder while wearing a mask, shooting into a building and being a delinquent in possession of a firearm. Authorities say he was sentenced to one year in prison and five years probation. He was given credit for time he had already served, and was released on probation

Sounds like he didn't shoot until he was threatened. It will be interesting to see how it plays out. No ch.arges expected
