Just wondering if anyone has purchased one of these shirts, and how they like them. I really like the concept. I would love one for my Glock 27 during the summer months. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

I have no first hand experience with them, but the price seems too high. At $75 each, it it would cost me $575 to buy a weeks worth of shirts.

Yes, that is it. I agree. Compared to other similar items, it is high priced. All reviews I have read so far are positive about it's comfort level. It has to be comfortable enough to wear under all of the latest Hawaiian shirt designs!

Re: 5.11 Tactical Short-Sleeve Holster Shirt
I have three of these, and no, I don't wear them every day.
I think they're extremely effective for situations where I don't want to carry IWB (if I'm driving a lot, for instance). However, the polyester fabric doesn't breathe well, and I sweat like a piggy (even moreso) on hot summer days. The upside is that it's great for wintertime. Alas, not enough "wintertime" comes to Texas.
I'm a firm believer that you should have at least 3 types of holsters for effective CC: IWB, OWB, and Shoulder. I even have "belly band" thrown into that mix for #4. IMHO, the 5.11 holster shirt is a great product for that kind of carry, just keep in mind the fabric is a very snug fit to your body, and is functionally non-absorbent (that's good for the gun, not so good if you sweat a lot on hot days )

Also, keep in mind that if wearing one of these there really isn't a quick draw option. I have one and use it when needed but I know getting to my pistol quickly is not going to happen with this shirt.

Kind of. As I implied earlier though -- I'm right handed, and if I'm driving a lot, I prefer the 5.11 shirt to IWB carry. If I have to reach for my gun while wearing a seat belt, I might have to fumble around the buckle or work through clothing held down. With shoulder carry, I have an easier reach to my pistol, although I might have to two-hand the operation to open my shirt. It really depends on what you're comfortable with, that's why I advocate having more than one carry option.cbucher wrote:Also, keep in mind that if wearing one of these there really isn't a quick draw option. I have one of these I wear in the summer when I cant carry IWB. Mine didnt come with the belly band though. It is breathable and feels pretty good but i wouldnt use the mag pouch because mine fell out once.
