He was holding a white T-shirt with a gun barrel sticking out of it and pointed it at the victims.

As the gunman leaned over the counter, one of the employees grabbed a pistol, pointed it upward at a 45-degree angle and fired a single shot, police said. The would-be robber then ran out of the business.

DURHAM – A convenience store employee shot a man who tried to break into the business Friday morning by cutting a hole in the roof.

The man was shot once in the leg and ran away, but police arrested a suspect soon after the incident.
