Just kidding, its awful QUIET here.....No reloading questions, no stories no nada..!!! :cryin

I know I'm not an expert, I just love this stuff.....I have been pouring bullets for about a week now, got some .309 170gn's and some .309 150gn Flat Points for my 30-30 cooking now....Just finished a bunch of .358 150gn SWC's and 148gn WC's which I like to shoot out of my GP100 and my S&W M-28.

Ohhhh...I've been rebuilding a commercial meat slicer I was given years ago, didn't need much just some rewiring and some minor parts. Just about to get it finished, my wife can't wait to slice something...Hope its not a finger... :nono:

Well...that's what I've been doing.......

I'll post a story about my Hornady LnL adventure as soon as I finish setting it up. It's definitely been interesting, but some frustrations as well (overall though: VERY happy).

I'm about to load some 303 british and I need to work up a new 223 load. My 7.62x54r is awaiting its turn too. I'm sitting on a bunch of 9mm that I'm being lazy about.

You're right I need to get my rear in gear! :hurry:

Ya know, I have been reading and looking at the LnL AP for a long time....I think I want one too..!!!
I want to hear your story about any setup problems or ideas you had.
I know Andy C. just got one also and should have it set up and cranking some ammo out if he is finished being sick ( YUK )

I use to use a Dillon SD, but sold it with thoughts of getting a LnL or another Dillon...But the money went other places..!!!
Been using several Single stage presses and my Redding T7 turret press...Which I love..!!!
I'm using a Hornady Case activated powder drop assembly, with a RCBS powder measure with hornady PTX dies/bushings in 45 and 38 cal.....Its been working just fine.

Let us know how it goes.

I don't have a 303, but I do have a 223 Rem. that I need to start working on reloading for.
I have an old Winchester Mod-70 in 223 rem. that I have not even shot much. Its in such nice shape, I hate to get any scratches on it. It even has the old orange rubber butt plate...I understand they quit making the 223 Rem years ago in a Mod-70 ???

Oh well...I hate to have a gun I don't shoot, its like having candy and can't eat any

Why .451"? This for your MP bullets?

Most modern 45 Colt FMJ bullets are .451 dia, same as 45acp and .452 for lead bullets. Hornady makes their 45 Colt FMJ bullets with a .452 dia but their 45acp is .451. I guess this is why they have a 451 and 452 expander. I am not sure why they make the Colt bullets .001 larger than others but they also make 44spl - 44mag FMJ bullets to a .430 dia instead of .429. My guess is just to be different.

Since most belling dies are adjustable I think the .001 difference is a mute point anyway. I have never used or seen a LnL setup so I am making assumptions the expander is just a powder die that also bells the mouth to ease seating.

Howabout a budget shopping list for someone who is looking at all his saved brass (9mm, .40s&w/10mm, .45acp) and thinking it's about time to get some equipment and convert them from empties back to ready to fire.

:biggrinjester:

Kinda on a budget as I may have spent a bit on Mrs. Iunnrais and got her this nice critter (which I predict will hurt the household 9mm budget):

As far as powder-through expanders go, I'd highly recommend checking out the Powderfunnel Universal PTX. One of these will work for most handgun calibers with my Hornady LnL.

Gavin, of ultimatereloader.com, has a great youtube (as always), which demonstrates setting it up: " onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Well, I've been off all the forums for a few days.....My Daughter-in law and Son just had their first baby and I'm a new first time Grand-dad..!!!! :woohoo

Been at Huntsville hospital for 28 straight hours WAITING..!!!
Finally around 4am Sunday morning he was born..!!!

WoW...Thats a lot of sitting in chairs and slumming in waiting rooms...!!!
The staff started to bring us coffee after a bunch of hours, they felt sorry for us sitting for sooooo long....Then after it was all over, we came home and went to sleep for who knows how long. I'm almost back to normal...whatever that is

Just thought I'd share that....I'm ready to get back to some reloading or something not having to do with a hospital..!!! :thumbs2:

I'm glad some of yall jumped in with some stories and posts.
Looks like Iunnrais got a new toy and AndyC got his LnL cooking....Good for yall.

Oh..I bought something too...Got a Lyman 2 cavity mold rebuild kit today..Oh boy, no more bullets with flashing on the bottoms with the new sprue plate and hardware...!

Makes me wonder what they'd think if you brought a reloading station into the waiting room to pass the time... :biggrinjester:
