Tyranny is identified by what is legal for government employees but illegal for the citizenry.

Finally! An all-metal double-stack 1911!

Now I just need to find the right IWB hoslter and buy a gun belt that's 4" longer than what I usually wear. You don't think this will print too bad, do you?

Anyone surprised that the media has labeled this as a "chilling double-barrel handgun"

I wonder if you have to use both eyes when aiming this thing? :roll:

You could also count an STI with alluminum grip or most SVIs as double stack 1911s that are all metal.

The shooter states that he put 4,000 grains downrange with the 16 rounds he fired.

That would equate to 250 grain ammo. The standard .45 = 230 grains. Are 250 grain .45's available?

He made a comparison with 9MM's. If you shot 4,000 grains of 9, each round would = 133 grains, which would
be pretty close to a 124 grain, commonly available 9MM round.

By the way, who's got mitts big enough to handle that wide-bodied double grip on that weapon? Sasquatch?

Much like the Taurus Judge, it is a solution looking for a problem

Actually, I was kinda thinking along the same lines. If you REALLY need to throw that much lead at something, wouldn't a Judge/Governor be a better choice? More concealable (relatively speaking, of course) and with the "Raging" Judge you've got the option of .45LC, .454, .410, and with moon clips, the Raging variant should be sturdy enough to handle the .45ACP, assuming the cylinder can lock and cycle on the clips. I think instead of "Second Century" they should rename their 1911 abomination "The Compensator." :razz:

Aside: Don't be surprised when the Compensator/Second Century shows up in the next big military shooter game sequel/addon and suddenly everyone between the ages of 11 and 30 is an expert on it...

I really don't see any innovation. Howz'bout we weld two choppers side to side....or put two chainsaw blades on a single engine...or weld two samari sword blades onto a single handle? :confused5 Mamma mia....

I think it's kind of fun as an exercise in excess. Sort of like the Dodge Tomahawk, it's one of those totally useless, completely over the top, "just because we can" sort of things. Does it do ANYTHING better than other choices that are already out there? No. Would anyone with two brain cells to rub together ever consider using it for defensive purposes? Of course not. Is it really even that original of an idea? No, not really. Is it kinda cool in spite of all that? Yeah... it is. If nothing else, it will make droves of hoplophobes run for their emergency Valium supplies and, with trembling fingers, place panicked calls to their therapists.

Yes. So were 300-grain bullets designed with rebated boattails so they'll fit in a .45ACP case. Their web site resolves elsewhere and a cursory check seems to indicate that Northwest Custom Projectiles is no longer around, but here's a link to a thread that discussed their 300-grain .45ACP bullets: http://forums.1911forum.com/showthread.php?t=142929" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Over the years, I've reached the conclusion that if you ask "Does it exist?" about anything gun-related, if you do enough research you'll find some inventive type has already built it. We seem to attract tinkerers and inventors.
