SavageMythology, I'm about a week behind you and mine is still stuck in the BG check. It doesn't seem there is any rhyme or reason to how they process the information. Here is my timeline...

1/28 - Took CHL Class
2/3 - DPS Received Paperwork
2/3 - Had fingerprints taken
2/15 - DPS updated to show everything received; background check under review

I think I'm definately proving that I am NOT a patient person :banghead:

Took class Feb 13th.
Mailed materials Feb 15th.
Checking status everyday and its still in the "waiting on required materials", status.

UGH, the waiting is killing me. If it would just change to the background status I would be happy.

Just found out from a buddy that his brother took his class 10 days after I did and has already gotten his card. My status stayed in "waiting for materials" for 23 days. Its been in the background review status for 9. I live in Wiliamson Co, I wonder if that has anything to do with it. Ive lived in TX my entire life. My record is completely clear, in fact I had to have a background check for work. I know my wait is nothing like the old days, but I just figured since its online now it would be somewhat quicker. Also, according to the status, my fingerprints and pictures were accepted, so thats not the problem.

Ok end of rant.

Where does your buddy's brother live? Different counties make have a different number of DPS troopers making background checks.
