First carry and made sorta!!
Well I received my CHL earlier this week and today made my first carry to the store, as fate would have it while in the store I met a friend that I haven't seen in a few months and when she saw me ran up to me and gave me a big hug!!! She's a GOOD friend and kinda gave me an arms around the waist pull in hug and there was no doubt what was hanging on my hip. The look on her face was shocking, but being "friends" she asked if I was really excited to see or was that a hog leg on my hip; I told I was really excited to see her and then she gave me that look letting me know she knew what she felt on my hip. But it was cool, she played it off and looked around and then said she carries all the time since she got her CHL and asked if I had mine, and told her I just got it! End results were going out to diner tonight!! Not a bad first carry!!!! You never know who else carries.

Re: First carry and made sorta!!
How funny to get made the first time out. Really instills confidence
Seriously, don't sweat it... Sounds like a very good recovery.
My family has figured out that I hug them differently when I'm carrying. Yet another excuse to carry all the time so nothing ever "appears different".

So if it goes well and y'all get married, are we all invited?
After all, she carries and gives good hugs - that's two points in her favor already

thats awesome ! she sounds hot
Re: First carry and made sorta!!
That's funny.
At church, I "go low" my arms low under theirs, so theirs is more of a shoulder hug, instead of at my waist so they don't find my gun, but another CHL, licensed longer, who carries, hugging low first .... That's funny. So, now you know ... she's faster on the hug than you are, you've been outdrawn by a girl.
Have a great dinner.

She's definately a keeper. Good luck tonight. I try to avoid hugs when carrying but when I must, I make dang sure my right arm goes under their left arm no matter how rediculous it looks or feels.

Re: First carry and made sorta!!
Heh, I get "made" all the time by family. Thankfully they're all family and either have their own CHL or don't care. It's hard to "go low" for a hug when you're 6'6" like me...so I just avoid hugs (or make sure I'm carrying something small).RPB wrote:At church, I "go low" my arms low under theirs, so theirs is more of a shoulder hug, instead of at my waist so they don't find my gun, but another CHL, licensed longer, who carries, hugging low first ....
