Newbie Loving The Forum

Howdy All!

In preparing for my CHL test this week, I came across this forum and I couldn't be happier. I've been reading all the posts in New to CHL and I want to say Thank You for your thoughtful and sobering words. The idea that we are Ambassadors of the CHL is welcome news to someone who has to listen to a lot of loud incessant chest beating, from people who can't wait to play policeman. I've looked at a lot of forums lately, and believe me, this IS ..the most sane CHL spot on the net. Thanks again....Great job everyone.

I can't wait to take my "Wally Walk" and tell you all about it.

Welcome to the forum and to the world of concealed carry. :thewave

I have a little advise for you that I have tried to pass along to others just my .02:

(1)When you send in your papers. DO NOT keep checking the DPS website for changes to your status. The changes that are made on the website are usually a week old. I have seen cases where they had plastic in hand before the site changed to manufacturing.

(2) You will go crazy and start checking it every day if not 2 or 3 times a day. Think I'm wrong, look at some of the posts from the others that are or have gone through it.

(3) while you are waiting, start to figure out what carry weapon and style of carry works best for you and then carry around your house to get used to having it with you.

(4) In the words of a good friend on the forum, carry 24/7 or guess right

(5) Be safe

El Paso originally. First used ,22 pistols as "peacekeepers" with the local rattling community out in the sand hills.

DesertRadioRat:

You say "El Paso originally", but it appears your 20 is elsewhere now.

If you care to let your CHL neighbors know where you are currently from, you can post this
data in the "hometown" area of the UCP (User Control Panel) of the forum. It will then show up each time
you post, and will enable other forum members in your area to know that you are in their neck of the woods.

Also, what gun(s) do you own, and what will you be packing once your plastic arrives?

Welcome aboard sir.
