I paid $629 for my XD(m) 5.25" 9mm at the Fort Worth Gun Show a few months ago. And, they're beginning to show up on the used market, as well.

Is it worth the extra (versus a 4.5" XD(m)? I've not seen too many folks who have both (and there seem to be quite a few on XD Talk and Brian's forum that do) that have said they're dropping the 5.25 to go back to competing with the 4.5"'er. I've not shot the 4.5" so I can't give you any idea. I just know that I won't willingly give up mine! :hurry:

I don't know what your budget is but XDM 5.25 ($750ish)or the XD Tactical ($500). I have the XDM 4.25 and it shoots well. If I start shooting more 3 gun and IDPA I'll switch to the 5.25

I have the XD 9sc and, while it is not on your list, I can tell you that the XD is excellent. I can't imagine that the XDm is enough better to justify the price difference. At defensive range it is as accurate as my SigPro and USP. With the money saved you could easily add a light or buy extra bullets for the range.

Some don't like the stock trigger and there are some drop in kits to improve them. Personally, I find the factory trigger just fine for a carry or HD pistol.

I don't think you can go wrong with any of the Springfield pistols.

I didn't list it in my original post, but had it in one of my replies:

The XD sc 9mm is a for sure purchase for me...it will be my edc. I was wondering about the non-edc version. I'm glad to hear you like it too. I was looking at a Glock 26 for a while but now I'm totally in the Springfield camp
