Shooting in Slaton

They're still sorting this one out.

"Person of interest" knocked on doors, asking when people would leave for work and whether anyone would be home. Residents called police. Police couldn't hold him after the first encounter - no laws broken, just odd/suspicious behavior.
Then the guy apparently found victims to his liking. No sign of forced entry, but one elderly woman is dead, and a younger woman injured.
He is in custody.
The sooner I get behind, the more time I have to catch up.

"We believe this incident today is random,” Wheeler said. “We do not believe, to the best of my knowledge, that he had a specific reason to be in Slaton. It’s just tragic. It’s tragic to the families here, so we’re going to do everything we can to find this person. ... We’re a very proactive department. These things happen everywhere. Just because we’re a small town doesn’t mean crimes like these can’t occur.”
Goes from house to house asking who's at home and when they will be leaving. Maybe the specific reason he was there in Slaton was to rob and kill.....randomly. :banghead:
