DPS Received 2 weeks ago

Should I start to worry if DPS has received my package just about 2 weeks ago but no status update on the site? I called them last week and they asked me to get back with them this week if no progress.
Sent via certified mail so I know they received the package.

I wish they would get to working on my plastic!

It took them 17days to update after I mailed my forms, you'll probably see an update soon.

I'm going on about two weeks with no update as well. I've seen a bunch of posts all over the place with people saying they haven't seen an update. I figure they are overwhelmed with new applications from all the new gun owners from the last christmas season.

There is no formula to know who will receive rapid plastic and who will not. The important thing here is that you now are climbing the mountain...and welcome to The Forum folks! It's a virtual wealth of knowledge... :txflag:

I've read on this forum that 2-3 weeks is normal wait for first confirmation by DPS. Good luck!

Sent on February 6th, still waiting for an update.
I can wait but glad that I live in a state that allows CHL :txflag:

Thanks guys. I normally don't get excited about stuff like this. For some reason I feel like I did when I was a kid waiting for Christmas morning to arrive.

Ordered some accessories to help me wait :)

Yeah, great feeling, huh? It was nice to have something to lose my mind over as an adult.

Updated last night to background check under review. Packet received by DPS on the 8th, updated on the 25th. I just KNOW they updated it because my birthday is tomorrow :)

Hopefully I will have the plastic in my hands within 2 weeks!

The background check is the "real" wait! You would think it would only take a few minutes to read it if you have no background, considering they could have all that pulled up ahead of time. However, the government isn't exactly the most efficient thing in existence.

Just moved to manufacturing pending!

I think I will come in just over 30 days as I mailed the packet 2/6. Not bad, I have no complaints at all about how long it took. The only issue I have is that I should have taken care of this long ago!
