Rapid fire friendly gun ranges in Houston area?

#1

Post by G17'ster »

Hey guys,

I was wanting to know if there where any gun ranges in the Houston area that allow rapid fire? I know of a couple (Marksman Indoor Range, Sportsman Shooting Center - Clearlake), but was wanting to know if there are any others in the area?

Thanks,

G17'ster

Rapid Fire

Personal Best times on a Bill Drill (6 rounds at 7 yards)

2.18 seconds with an IPSC open gun
2.66 seconds with a Kimber .45 from concealment

If you want to shoot a handgun fast
shoot IDPA or IPSC

You'll find your ranges
See you at the range
NRA Life, TSRA Life, USPSA Life, Mensa (not worth $50 per year so it's expired)

PSC in Friendswood not only allows rapid fire, but drawing from a holster and other things you might be doing in real life. However, PSC is a members-only range.

59 allows it: http://www.packing.org/range/texas/range.php?range=572

The ventilation is terrible and some of the people that shoot there are not the most legitimate looking, but the staff is friendly.

SSC down in the Friendswood area is in my opinion neutral about it...

Shot there a while back, and someone, very consistantly went through so much ammo, so fast, it was hard to consentrate...

But whatever floats yer boat I suppose...

The management there seems to be apathetic to the issue...Like, "What should I do about it?"

I never asked but that seems to be the temperature of the folks running the place...
