US Senate race - Texas 2012
Saw this thread over at ar15.com which reminded me that there was a senate race this year too.
I had honestly forgotten about it because I hadn't see any news or ads about it recently. So is there any campaigning going on for this thing, or is it just none in my neck of the woods.
After doing some research I'm going to be voting for Ted Cruz.

Re: Texas Senate Race 2012
I've heard them here in the Houston Market, each claiming they are more conservative than the other. Dewhurst has more television. I think Cruz has been more on the radio.

In case anyone is wondering who the candidates all are...

And... Maybe this thread is better titled "US Senate race - Texas 2012"?
so as not to confuse with Texas State Senate race 2012

+1 for Cruz
Re: US Senate race - Texas 2012
Stand back for a moment and look at Cruz and the policies he is espousing. He may be popular amongst the tea party folks, but his election would likely further marginalize any influence that the state of Texas has in Washington, and that would do us little good.

Republican Party April 3 GOP primary candidates:
Donna Campbell (website says pro 2A ... even on college campuses)
Elizabeth Ames Jones Ames is the current chairman of the Texas Railroad Commission (website says "I am not only the strongest proponent of Second Amendment rights in this race; I am also the best shot. I")
Jeff Wentworth Incumbent Wentworth was first elected to office in 1992. (we know him if you ever heard of campus carry)

Ok, now back to US races
I got a card in the mail yesterday from Bill Burch burchforcongress.com
I see nothing about 2nd Amendment

I search and find Dave Garrison "I support the Second Amendment"
then I see Wes Riddle

Guns are Good for Health | Wes Riddle - http://www.wesriddle.com/blog/guns-are-good-for-health" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Like we should be concerned if we are "liked" by the Washington crowd or even the elite in the Republican Party? As far as I am concerned I want someone that will stand up and do what is right for this country, not some "get-a-long SOB"

We tried that getting along stuff, and it just doesn't work as well as the " Leave us alone" policies.gdanaher wrote:Stand back for a moment and look at Cruz and the policies he is espousing. Well, why don't you give us a few examples of things you don't like about Cruz? And which candidate you think should be chosen to go against the Democrat choice for Senate in November? I'm probably a bit more libertarian leaning than Cruz is, but out of the choices for senate I think he is probably the best one.gdanaher wrote:Stand back for a moment and look at Cruz and the policies he is espousing. Also in the long run, it will be advantageous for Republicans to a few more Hispanic politicians elected to office.

Haven't studied em all, leaning strongly towards Cruz so far. A couple turned me right off, don't remember their names off the bat but sure wont' be voting for em.

I can't vote for him, I no longer live in Texas. But if I could, I would.O.F.Fascist wrote:Saw this thread over at ar15.com which reminded me that there was a senate race this year too.
