Time Line

Dec 8, 2011. Applied Online via DPS website.
Dec 8, 2011. "Application Processed Online. Concealed Handgun License is waiting on required materials".
Dec 9, 2011. FAST Fingerprints completed.
Dec 28, 2011. Completed the CHL course at local gun shop.
Dec 29, 2011. Mailed materials to DPS Austin via Certified Mail.
Jan 11, 2012. All items received. "Background Check Under Review".
Jan 24, 2012. "Manufacturing Pending"
Jan 25, 2012. "Manufacturing"
Jan 27, 2012. "Mailed".
Jan 30, 2012. Received.
13 business days from once they received to the time that it was mailed. Pretty impressive!!

Carrying sure takes awhile to get use to. Few local places today. Sig kinda gets heavy. Little nervous about the shirt riding up but I'll get use to it.

You'll get used to the weight after carrying for a while. My M&P compact still feels a little heavy first thing in the morning but after a few minutes, I literally forget it's there.

What I am not used to, at this point in time, is the lack of the weight there. I feel very comfortable only once that extra weight is on my hip...gun on the right, extra mag on the left.
