I looked at a bunch of "pocket" guns before I bought my LCP, and everything else was just slightly too big to comfortably pocket carry.

Even the Sig 380 was too bulky, even though it was what I was originally leaning towards. My main reason for getting a pocket gun was so I could easily throw something in my front pocket when I took the dog out. Having to wrestle something that barely fits into the pocket (which doesn't bode well for being able to quickly retrieve it) defeats the purpose. Having something that prints more obviously than one of my bigger Sigs defeats the purpose.

It is nice to see the ultra-compact market growing, and if I wore something other than jeans most of the time they might be feasible, but in the end the tiny 9mm's just don't have a purpose for me, because if I'm going to get something that doesn't go in my pocket easily, I might as well just carry one of my normally sized guns.

I usually wear khakis and a tucked in golf shirt or a dress shirt -- plus a quality gunbelt and a Comp-Tac Minotaur. Oh, and I have two spare magazines in a tuckable IWB mag pouch on my weak side.

What are you wearing that creates such a problem?
My dress is totally different at church. My normal every day wear is cargo shorts with untucked shirt, this makes it easy to conceal. At church I always wear my shirt tucked in so that limits my options. I could possibly wear my Sig P250sc and I may try that in the future. I have my every day wardrobe built around concealed carry. My church wardrobe is not geared toward that, that is probably my main issue.

Ok. My .02 cents for church. Two words: Sports Jacket. Something light for the summer, something heavier for winter. I usually carry my full size XDm .40 in a Galco OWB pancake holster, with a spare clip on the belt OWB weakside. You can't tell at all with a sport coat on. I came home recently with a friend, and took off my jacket only to have him say "holy smokes, you concealed THAT?"

Yes, yes I did.... :tiphat:

You can wear a jacket with Jeans, Slacks....and/or obviously a suit.

Or, as I've shared, my PT709 does nicely IWB with a sport jacket as well....or an un-tucked guayabera shirt....which is my usual usual casual attire ....

mrvmax: Interesting.....I often wear my shirt untucked at church. If you did the same, would anyone say anything? That would be less-dramatic a change than adding a sports coat.

Also, you should look at the tuckable-style IWB holsters or even a belly-band holster. It would work well with the SIG....and perhaps the 1911, too.
Howdy y'all. Glad to be here.....
