I'll be teaching my first CHL class this weekend. I will have one renewal in the class and I want to make sure of a few things.
It is my understanding that for the renewal the student must have 4 hours of class time that covers at least one of the four required topics:
1. Deadly force
2. Handgun use, proficiency, and safety
3. Nonviolent dispute resolution
4. Proper storage practices for handguns
Also, the renewal student needs to qualify on the range, but is not required to take the written test.
Photos are no longer required for a renewal.
Is all of the above correct?
Thanks.
Jay

Re: Teaching My First Class; A Couple of Questions
As far as I'm aware, everybody needs to take the written (and proficiency) test.
Range Rule: "The front gate lock is not an acceptable target."
Never Forget.
