The above link shows a photo of the 82 year old man who had to shoot a burglar.
I like the fact that he is spreading the 2A defense mindset to his neighbors.

I assume that the pistol he used was a Makarov, chambered in 9MM x 18 MM, but there's no further detail to verify this.

From Wickapedia: "The PM (Pistolet Makarova, Russian: Пистолет Макарова) is a semi-automatic pistol design. Under the project leadership of Nikolay Fyodorovich Makarov, it became the Soviet Union's standard military side arm from 1951-1991"

Considering the unerring accuracy of all media outlets concerning firearms it well may have been a Mack. If it truly was a WWII Russian gun then it couldnt be a Mack chances are it was a Tokarev or maybe even a Nagant revolver.

My kind of police chief:
"The homeowner did something the criminal justice system couldn't do with this guy," said Daytona Beach police Chief Mike Chitwood. "We're familiar with the burglar. He put him out of business."

How about that - the guy was 83 years old as originally reported, who says the media never gets the story correct :smash: . I posted this story Thursday.
