I can see you did not fully understand my question so here it is again...can the association LEGALLY supercede the rights given to me by the state?
I'd just like to point out that the state does not GIVE us our rights, they simply recognize their existence.

My question is: Since he is a super trooper Peace Officer and was once a Deputy Sheriff, shouldn't he know the answer to his question? The simple answer to the OP question was a "no". It is already hard to understand how someone completes the CHL class then asks if a blatantly obvious gunbuster has any force of law but a TCLEOSE certified officer should dang well know.

I would not want him to be on a neighborhood watch.
He seems like the type that would let it go to his head and
harass innocent residents.

Maybe he flunked out of the Academy and is too
embarassed to admit it. I knew a LEO once that was kicked out of two police departments
Then he went into security work ( the ex Leo had it comming) washout officers
often try to get some kind of power after getting culled.

You are no more of a peace officer under Texas law than I am a chicken nugget. Passing the TCLEOSE exam is akin to graduating kindergarten, which regardless of where you worked last, presently all you are is licenseable. Identifying yourself as a peace officer when you are not is against the law. Exactly zero of the weapons related exemptions in TPC apply to you.

Being licenseable speaks nothing of a persons integrity, work ethic, or critical thinking skills. This job doesn't make anyone more impressive because of its title, it's simply more fun than most other jobs out there. I suggest you get over yourself.
Excellent post.
God Bless America, and please hurry.
