I do not know, without further edification regarding this club and its ties to HPD, whether there is any legal recourse possible against you for not following the rules. Obviously they could certainly kick you out of the club.

As others have said, if you don't care for the rules don't join the club.

The OP appears to have the "Diety v2.2.3" upgrade installed. We had a few M.D.s in the hospital with that program....never served them well either. A really offensive type of malware.

My suggestion would be to delete it quickly and join the rest of us "idiots" who LISTEN, discuss, help, comfort and support others to be better citizens who understand their rights and the free exercise thereof.

BTW, there is a Manage Friends & Foes feature of the board in User Control Panel.
I used it today for the first time. Problem solved.

Oh please enough of that nonsense. I am a state certified law enforcement officer not some idiot who passed the background check for a chl.

I thought I could come back and get a few mature and informed opinions but that still seem's to be just a dream.

You are no more of a peace officer under Texas law than I am a chicken nugget. Passing the TCLEOSE exam is akin to graduating kindergarten, which regardless of where you worked last, presently all you are is licenseable. Identifying yourself as a peace officer when you are not is against the law. Exactly zero of the weapons related exemptions in TPC apply to you.

Being licenseable speaks nothing of a persons integrity, work ethic, or critical thinking skills. This job doesn't make anyone more impressive because of its title, it's simply more fun than most other jobs out there. I suggest you get over yourself.

Also change your signature line before somebody mistakes you for a real cop.

You did. As others already said, the bottom line is the neighborhood ninja club can kick you out if you carry a weapon. You have to decide if you want to play by their rules. Personally I would tell them I can't join unless i can carry. My time is limited and I won't waste it doing volunteer work for an organization that doesn't respect my human rights.

Legally, if you have a CHL you can't carry in prohibited places. The club can't change that without changing the law. They also can't give effective 30.06 notice unless it's their property or they have the authority to make that decision for the property owner.

Mercy, You sure were polite.
The OP had already been chastened for his name-calling, I figured that more chastening was likely to come, and I tried to limit my response to the original question and spirit thereof. Nobody really enjoys being called an idiot, though.

Nope. I don't even like it when my wife calls me that. :banghead:

This is why I will never join my city's citizen patrol group or any other vol. group they have. I do just fine talking with my immedite neighbors and together we all keep an eye out for each other. I have no problem being a lowly citizen with a cell phone and calling the PD when I see something suspicous or illegal. I don't need to be part of a special club to do that.

The main issue is alot of people don't even know their neighbors and that's a shame. Take some time and go sit outside your house. Take a few minutes to talk to your neighbors.

Myself as well as 3 other neighbors all have CCTV systems (someday I'll have HD quailty) and a few times we've been able to provide pictures or video to our PD to assist them in locating or ID'ing folks.

Stand by your mailbox. Anywhere you can see from there...that's what you should be looking out for (unless of course you live on the top of a mountian and can see for miles). If everyone did that, just imangine how much better your neighborhood would be.
