New guy and taking CHL class on Saturday 31st

#1

Post by bigtex76 »

I found this website several months ago and I have to say that I am very impressed with this site. I decided to go with Red River firearms in Sherman for my CHL. I have been to their indoor range a couple of times and I am pleased with their facilities and customer service. I completed the background check about two weeks, fingerprints tomorrow and chl class on Saturday. Hopefully, by Monday, I am sending in my package for my CHL. Anything else I am missing?

How can you complete the background check before doing fingerprints and taking the class?

Can't be done. Maybe the OP misunderstood and had a background check done on themselves.

@Lambda I meant I completed my part of the background check online. The state will not complete it until they get the fingerprints and the completion of class certificates. Sorry for the misunderstanding of my writing.

Interesting diction. Just out of curiosity, is English your second language?

Good luck to you, and welcome to the forums. You can learn a great deal from being here.

Im taking my CHL class in Feb and Ive already done the background check and fingerprints. Everything is online now. First you go to the DPS site and fill out the info and pay the $140 fee. After 24 hours or so you can set up an appointment to have your fingerprints done.

Thanks for all the information. I took the class yesterday and all went well. The only problem was that the class didn't get out until about 9:00pm. About 2 hours behind I guess, maybe because it was a big class. I would recoomend Red River Firearms to anybody in North Texas to take their CHL.

If by malfunction you mean shoot circles around S&W and Berettas then all of them.
